Gas we didn't burn

Live · every Turbo Moka ever sold

Every Turbo Moka out there, bought online, in our Brera store, from a retailer in Milano, Zurich or Tokyo, or given by a company to its people, is brewing one coffee a day, on a flame that runs shorter. This counter adds up the gas those coffees are not using, right now, one second at a time.

How this is calculated

Data: every Turbo Moka sold since February 2025, by model: online orders by day, retailer, distributor and corporate invoices by date, and our Brera store. Each moka starts brewing one coffee a day from 5 days after purchase, and never stops. Savings per brew come from side-by-side timing on the same stove, flame and water: the 3-cup finishes 52 seconds sooner than a classic moka (106 s vs 158 s, −33%), the 6-cup 140 seconds sooner (160 s vs 300 s, −47%), and the 1-cup saves a quarter of its brew, about 22 seconds. A domestic burner at moderate flame is taken as 1.2 kW; natural gas at 10.5 kWh per m³ and 0.2 kg CO₂ per kWh. Store sales are counted at a flat monthly figure; retailer units are counted from the invoice date, earlier than the day a customer took them home.

3-cup 0 −52 s per brew (−33%)
1-cup 0 −22 s per brew (−25%)
6-cup 0 −140 s per brew (−47%)

The honest energy equation

Casting aluminium is energy-intensive. We don't hide that.

The metal is melted once. From that moment the pot only gives energy back. And it is built to be kept for generations: repairable, nothing glued shut, fully recyclable at the end.

  • Once: the casting cost, paid a single time
  • 730: coffees a year, two a day, each one brewed with less gas
  • 10 h: of flame saved every single year: enough to run a refrigerator for two weeks

Our entire supply chain (casting, components, assembly) sits within northern Italy. A short chain, a long life.

You never truly own a Turbo Moka. You just take care of it for the next generation.
